What Clients Say
“Working with Erin has been one of the most empowering experiences I’ve had in my personal and professional growth. She helped me create clear, realistic SMART goals and guided me into a deeper awareness of my mind and body. Through her gentle insight, I learned how to identify different parts of myself, slow down, and make more grounded decisions. She has a gift for reflecting back exactly what I’m saying in a way that builds confidence and clarity.
With her support, I broke big goals into achievable steps — including starting my master’s program and acing my first class, which was something that felt completely overwhelming with the phase of life I was in before working with Erin. I’m truly grateful for the transformation that came from our work together! I have lasting skills and tools to incorporate into my everyday life now.”
~Abbie L
“Working with Erin has been a truly influential experience. From our very first session, she was kind and present in a way that led me to have more clarity and to move closer to my visions and goals. Her attentive nature allowed her to pick up on small details I hadn’t noticed myself and to reframe my experiences in a supportive way. Beyond her warmth, she provided the perfect level of accountability, keeping me on track toward my goals while always remaining supportive. I’m so grateful for her guidance.”

Your Questions, Answered
What is Health & Wellness coaching as defined by the NBHWC board certification?
While almost anyone can call themselves a health or wellness coach, not everyone holds the NB-HWC board certification. The NBHWC partners with approved training programs to standardize health and wellness coaching as a profession built on a simple idea: you are the expert on your own life.
As a board-certified coach, I work with you, not at you. I'm not here to hand you a meal plan or tell you what to do. Instead, I act as a partner and behavior change agent, helping you uncover what matters most to you and translating that into self-directed, lasting change that aligns with your personal values.
That means:
Listening without judgment. Every conversation is rooted in respect and a genuine belief in your capacity to grow.
Building on your strengths. You already have insights, resources, and resilience. My job is to help you mobilize them.
Creating goals that fit your life. Together we design self-determined wellness goals, practical action steps, and ways to track progress that actually work for you.
NBHWC-approved training prepares coaches to work across healthcare, corporate wellness, community health, academic, and private practice settings, all within a clear scope of practice. Board-certified coaches adhere to nationally recognized standards and a Code of Ethics, and maintain their certification through ongoing continuing education and recertification.
So whether you are navigating a health challenge or simply want to feel better in your day-to-day life, you are working with someone trained, accountable, and committed to helping you get there.
How is Health and Wellness Coaching different than therapy?
In a nutshell, therapy typically looks backward and inward It helps you understand how past experiences, trauma, and deep-seated patterns are affecting your present life. A therapist might explore your childhood, relationship history, or the root causes of anxiety or depression.
Wellness coaching, on the other hand, looks forward and outward. It’s centered on where you want to go — and how to get there. A wellness coach works with you to set meaningful goals, identify what’s standing in the way, and build a concrete plan to move forward.
Neither direction is better — they serve different needs. If unresolved emotional pain is holding you back, therapy provides the space to process and heal. If you’re ready to take action on goals but need guidance and structure, wellness coaching gives you that momentum.

Does Health and Wellness Coaching qualify as a reimbursable expense under HSA and FSA accounts?
Health and wellness coaching is an emerging profession that is not yet specified in the IRS code language. However, they do cite that “amounts paid for the primary purpose of treating a medical condition are deductible as medical care.” So, if a taxpayer has a medical condition for which a doctor recommends health and wellness coaching services as a treatment to address the medical condition, then the associated costs qualify as “medical care” and therefore may qualify as a deductible medical expense.
If you are interested in receiving benefits under your HSA/FSA for HWC, you should consult your physician to discuss your medical treatment and care plan. If your physician decides that you have a condition that warrants the support of a health and wellness coach, they may recommend that course of treatment. In this instance, we recommend a Medical Letter of Necessity be provided from your doctor for record-keeping and claim submission.
